Residential Remodel in Arcadia

The goal of this project was to expand a modest 1,000 sf masonry home and make it appealing to the modern family with a giant great room and primary bedroom suite and an indoor-outdoor feel with the great room opening to a fantastic back patio and spacious backyard. We oriented the great room to take advantage of the excellent views of the nearby Camelback Mountain.

A developer saw the opportunity in a modest 1,000 sf masonic home in a very hot location in the very hot Arcadia neighborhood. The home had been inhabited by the original owners for many years and the family matriarch passed away, leaving it to her kids. The kids decided to sell it and the developer helped them remodel the house to get the most out of this very well-located property. We more than doubled the size of the house while keeping a lot of the original masonry walls. We added a luxurious great room with views to the nearby Camelback Mountain and a spacious primary bedroom suite with a patio of its own. We enjoyed creating an indoor-outdoor vibe by placing a lot of glass looking out into the back patio and backyard while also creating great access and opening into the back patio. This would be a great house for parties!
